The founding vision
Beat Notz, a truly independent and visionary mind, imagines a new wealth management concept in Geneva. He was among the first to understand the huge potential offered by a few incredibly talented money managers on Wall Street — and decided to tap their legendary trading skills for European investors.
1967
First UCITS fund in Luxembourg
On 28 April 1967, we establish our first Luxembourg-based long only collective investment vehicle, DGC SICAV (later rebranded Diversified Growth Company) — which becomes the first UCITS fund in Luxembourg, a historic milestone in European fund history, establishing our permanent presence in the Grand Duchy.
1974
Pioneering alternative investments
We pioneer a whole new industry when we co-found Haussmann Holdings, one of the very first fund of hedge funds — thus allowing a wider public access to alternative investments. This innovation positions NS Partners at the forefront of alternative investing for decades to come.
1975
Notz Stucki & Cie is created
Beat Notz partners with his friend Christian Stucki to create Notz Stucki & Cie. Ahead of his time, he initiates pension fund management — an activity still very embryonic in Europe. The firm’s independent, talent-first investment philosophy takes full shape.
1987
European hedge fund expertise
As the less efficient markets of Europe provide good investment opportunities, we launch our Europe-focused fund of funds — investing from the start with some of the major names in European hedge funds. London has established itself as the global hub for international investing; we are there early.
2000s
Expansion and in-house strategies
After 30 years of combining outside talent to build multi-manager portfolios, we complement this expertise by launching our own single-manager strategies — in particular with funds based on promising investment themes. NS Partners transforms into a fully integrated investment management group.
2008
Navigating the financial crisis
Hedge funds suffer heavily during the 2008 financial crisis. Many managers, driven to complacency by rising markets, had massively increased their risk and leverage. Our rigorous due diligence and risk management processes prove their value. We emerge with our reputation and client trust fully intact.
December 2013
Luxembourg Super ManCo — triple licence
Our Luxembourg entity becomes the 1st Super ManCo in Luxembourg to be granted simultaneously the AIFM License, the Management Company under Chapter 15 of the UCITS Law license and the Wealth Management Activity extended services — all three licences at once. A unique and historic achievement in European fund regulation.
2021
Notz Stucki becomes NS Partners
With a new generation on board and in order to reflect the evolution of our activities, we change our brand name to NS Partners. The letters NS — initials of founders Beat Notz and Christian Stucki — carry the Group’s heritage forward while signalling a new strategic chapter focused on growth, talent and innovation.
2026
Today — Partners of your success
NS Partners is now one of the largest independent investment management groups in Switzerland and in Europe. The Group manages or administers more than CHF 10 billion in assets across three highly complementary activities: Wealth Management, Asset Management and Management Company services — across seven international offices in Geneva, Zurich, London, Luxembourg, Madrid, Milan and Bermuda.
